Support Entrepreneurs…especially really young ones!
Shubham Banerjee, a 13 year old inventor who used his legos to design a braille printer is on his way. Ten year old Mikaila Ulmer won $60,000 from Shark Tank investor Daymond John for Beesweet Lemonade and is on her way.
Where are they going?
They are part of a new breed of kidpreneurs using branding, technology, marketing trends and good ideas to make room for themselves. This is the age of the entrepreneur!
For the last 2 months, I have been working with two middle school entrepreneurs through Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA). Each student is assigned a mentor and a designer (me). The mentor helps the student complete a basic strategic plan that details business name, tagline, product/service, vision, mission, goals, objectives, target audience, etc. This was given to me by the students for review and questions. The students come from the Greater Philadelphia area and I am proud to say that some actually live in Philadelphia.
From this information, I developed their logos and marketing materials. (I designed the logo to the left.) They will use these materials to present their idea to an investors panel. This will give the investors an opportunity to fund their business.
To see these young entrepreneurs present at the 2015 Young Entrepreneurs Investor Panel Competition, click here to get more information. Its a free event. I look forward to seeing the students I worked with present their ideas. Let’s support them!
Do you know any young entrepreneurs?
