Today, we consider artist Leonardo da Vinci to be a renaissance man not only because of his famous masterpieces, but because of the fact that being a scientist, engineer and mathematician set his drawings apart. As a painter’s apprentice, he studied the human body from a different vantage point: anatomy—what was going on beneath the skin. And it was just this knack for crossing disciplines to find new ways of seeing and expanding the possibilities that is at the heart of Design Thinking.
